“Chicago's Beer Bars” began on a June day in 2009. I was sitting in a beer bar with a friend, looking at a neighborhood map of Chicago. Inspiration struck, and that kicked off the joint venture with my girlfriend. Over the course of a year, I created the pen and ink illustrations and she brought them to life with color.

The project is an homage to Chicago, craft beer, and the bars that serve them. The map features fourteen of Chicago's bars known for a tradition of serving the city's community of beer enthusiasts. Find us at any one of them.
